Description and History

The house is located near the village of  Cantiano, in the province of Pesaro – Urbino, at the foot of Mount Catria, the “Gibbo” mentioned  in the Divine Comedy by the Italian poet Dante Alighieri .
The country-house is situated near the ancient Flaminia road, on the border of the Umbria region.
The oldest part of the house was a guard-tower dating back to the Middle Ages. Later on  the building was converted  into a farmhouse.

A perpetual water spring gushes out close to the house  (the property called “Acqua Battaglia” is named after it). The spring is mentioned  in some of the oldest maps.
The farmhouse was recently renovated (1999-2002) but it preserved  the structure made of white stone (the so-called “corniola” of the Mount Catria) and  the architectural details of the old farmhouse. The building is made up of four apartments; all of them are equipped with a kitchen, a bathroom and furnished with “arte povera” furniture.

They are fitted with a fireplace and are provided with all the comforts to make a stay an enjoyable  experience for all. For  those looking for a relaxing holiday  plunged into the atmosphere of past times ,  Acqua Battaglia “ is the  ideal place.
A fenced park  has been created for  residents within the property; it includes the house, a swimming pool (14m by 7m) and a patio area furnished with tables, chairs, deck- chairs and a barbecue.
